15 Minute Phone Consultations - Complimentary

A full in-depth occupational therapy evaluation is about 1 1/2 hours and consists of multiple elements, including:

Child's History and Parental Concerns

Parental forms to provide child's history, parent's concerns, pediatrician or school concerns will be collected before the evaluation. During the evaluation we will continue to discuss your concerns and what you would like as your child's goal in therapy. 

Observation

We use clinical reasoning developed over years in the field of occupational therapy to determine areas of strength and weakness.

Standardized Testing

We use formal testing to compare your child’s skills to other children the same age.

Reporting

We write a report so that you better understand your child’s strengths and weaknesses which you can share with other professionals that work with your child, including doctors and teachers.

Parent Consultation

We review the written report with you and answer any questions that you have about our findings and recommendations.

Prepare Goals and Treatment Plan

We talk with you about the goals that you have for your child and help you set goals for your child to work on during direct treatment.

1 1/2 Hour Evaluation $425

Every child is unique and so should their specific therapy session. Therapy will often look like play and to the child feel like play. However each activity is helping your child to reach the goals developed in the evaluation so your child can achieve their highest potential. Private OT sessions are in your home or in a natural setting such as a playground. After each session parents will get a home program to carryover. 

Therapy should never be part of your normal routine. All treatment plans will have a start and end date based on goals. Upon goal achievement, therapy will end. Your child’s new skills may then be solidified in their home, school, and community and your family may relax and enjoy a break from appointments. After a break, a new evaluation may or may not be indicated for further services according to your child’s needs.

60 Minute Private OT Treatment Session $140

If your child is struggling with handwriting we can perform a thorough hand writing evaluation using the Handwriting Without Tears program. Evaluation results will be provided to parents with a written report indentifying the areas needing remediation.  A remediation report will also be provided with suggested tools and activities for your child to use to improve handwriting skills. Teachers and parents will also receive suggested activities to utilize in the class and at home for consistency and carryover.

Handwriting Evaluation $375

60 Minute Handwriting Tutoring $120

Sometimes it is just difficult to get together with your work and busy school  schedules. Or in current climates with Covid 19 and social distancing Telehealth is a valuable option to help. We can use live video conferencing to connect about treatment sessions after the formal evaluation has been completed. We can discuss your concerns, observe the behaviors, interact with your child if age appropriate, and provide treatment strategies you can carryover to help your child attain their best potential.
