About Us

Julie Gyoerkoe, MS OTR/L graduated from D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York with her BS/MS in Occupational Therapy. Julie has worked in Adult and Pediatric settings for over 25 years. In pediatrics she has worked in a variety of settings including NICU, Pediatric Acute Care, Outpatient Pediatrics, Developmental Clinics, In Home settings and School Based Services. 

Julie has been trained and certified in multiple pediatric specialties including:

• Ayres Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT)
• SOS Feeding Therapist Certification
• DIR Floortime Basic Certification 
• Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT)
• NDT Advanced Baby Handling
• The Alert Program 
• Zones of Regulation
• Interoception 
• Handwriting without Tears - Level I Certified Handwriting Specialist

Julie is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association (NCOTA). Julie also participates in several online pediatric groups. 

Julie has completed coursework with Mindful Schools, Oakland, CA, studying Mindfulness and its beneficial role in a child's daily life. 

Julie lives in Matthews, NC with her husband and son. She enjoys time with her family rock climbing, trail running, cooking and writing. She also enjoys yoga, pilates and daily meditation.
