A child has many "occupations" or meaningful activities that they participate in everyday including: playing, learning, socializing, and participating in daily living skills. The goal of Occupational Therapy is for a child to be able to functionally participate and succeed in these activities throughout the day.
Occupational Therapists help children learn, modify and master developmental skills in their natural setting: home, school, playground etc. An Occupational Therapist gives children the opportunity to engage in activities that are fun and meaningful. Most importantly OT provides children with the foundations of development that are necessary to thrive personally, academically and socially.
